Wow---this is a first for me too. I'm a virgin blogger. Saw "Julie, Julia" last week and that did help me understand blogs a little, plus it was a great movie. I've had a vacation since camp, and since I saw you all last--Rich and I went to Saugatuck for a few days. So I'm well rested, got lots of exercise, and ate okay--not great, but okay. And I've been cooking a lot of vegetables. This is such great tasting tomato time! The camp garden is producing tons now that camp is over!
By the way, the day after our breakfast last week, a microburst hit the farm and broke off an enormous limb from the tree by the Anderson Center porch, plus beheaded about 8 huge pine trees in what we call "the pines" on the north end of the farm, and ruined almost all of that corn that was so pretty along the side of the Anderson Center, plus badly dented up two of the camp canoes that went flying through the air. It was the most serious storm to hit the farm in years.
If this rain ever stops, let's walk! And put Sept 12 on your calendar---it's the annual barn dance, and it's fun. Only $5 per person to enter. Line dancing, kareoke, hayrides, bonfire, etc. --Plus food for sale, but not very healthy types: hot dogs, nachos, homemade salsa, popcorn, rootbeer -- But we could bring our own salads, and just enjoy the evening! Miss you all. Love, Lois
