My goal this weekend is portion control. I'm feeling so good, maybe even exercise. I'll let you know how I do. Now that I've joined the blog, I feel connected to you all again. I'll probably talk more here than I did when we met! I'm inspired to post regularly. We'll see if the responsibilities of daily life take me away or if I make this time a priority. As you can see, I'm already talking myself into blogging being a priority.
Take care of yourselves,
Eileen

Hello,everyone!
ReplyDeleteHow is it possible that it's been 8 (count 'em - 8!) days since I've posted!
But I do have a fairly good excuse - the rummage sale and the work around the house has kept me running....
First, I want to say a huge "THANK YOU!" to Joan who went above and beyond anyone's call of duty and worked her little tail off with me in the barn - what a star! Ladies, this was the "Year of the Toy" and toys are my responsibility. We could have easily filled a semi with all the toys - and there were boxes and boxes of detritus with little nuggets of worthwhile stuff scattered through - and then the electronic stuff - I NEVER want to see a battery again! Well, Joan sorted, priced and TESTED those da/#! things 'til her fingers bled!(Just in case you've missed the obvious - I NEVER exaggerate...much)What a huge help!(that's no exaggeration!
And I'm hoping that she's still glad we re-discovered each other - I'm not surprised at her willingness to pitch in - that's one of the things I loved her for in high school - but this really was extraordinary!
So our first day of rummage was a smashing success - I know we blew right through our best day - and I'm thinking that we almost equaled our two day high just for today!
The barn was awesome - looked like a department store and we had alot of quality furniture - the weather was super - and I didn't sock anyone! (Kathy gets a mite testy when people want to negotiate an item marked 25 cents)
Eileen, I'm so glad to hear that your daughters had a great time on the bike trip!
What an accomplishment! You sound like you're right on track - keep up the good work!
I've been spotty - since I've been at the Farm so much, I haven't had a lot of opportunities to eat - but then when I get home, I've been famished. But since I pretty much fall asleep as soon as I sit down, I'm hoping to drop a few pounds....
We're in the process of tuck-pointing the house - did I mention that? Anyway, I'm hoping that we'll be done this weekend - I'm so tired of grit everywhere; wonder what I've got in store when we do the demolition for the kitchen/breezeway? I have now officially accepted the fact that this project will not be done by Thanksgiving - but I'm still hoping for Christmas....
My sweet son-in-law is throwing a "Twice 21" surprise birthday party for Diane - This Sunday! I'm figuring to leave right after the sale tomorrow - say a prayer that I'll make the drive to Baraboo awake and at least semi-alert! Lar isn't going since he needs to be here for the tuck-pointers; my car is almost full of stuff i bought at the rummage sale for the kidlets - I normally don't descend on them with a car full but I gotta make some space in this house!
Joan, I'll still be in Baraboo on Monday so I won't be able to walk - I think Lois is planning to though - I will be there with my walking shoes on Wednesday - but what I'd really like is a walk and then that long talk we've been looking forward to...and no batteries!!!
You'd all get a chuckle to see me hobbling around right now - I look like I'm 100.
Please let's hear from you all - I miss you and I could use your wisdom and encouragement; after an exercise like this sale, I'm always a little let down and then "WHERE DID THE SUMMER GO"anyway?
If you have a minute tomorrow, stop by the farm; I'd love to see you!
Kath
